Aside from that, there are a few minor ganglia which are located in the spider's abdomen. There is one piece of specific neurological tissue that is located above the digestive tract in the stomach. This small area serves as a brain for the spider. Most evidence today supports the fact that the main purpose of the spider's brain is to process sensory information. The most important category of this is the intake from the eyes.
